I would like to introduce you to 31 Castlegate, nestled in the centre of York’s main tourist
attractions. All dishes are cooked using the finest local ingredients and the menus are written to utilise seasonal produce.
The menu reflects the experience and knowledge I have gained during my career, which has included L’Escargot (Marco
Pierre White) in London, the Head Chef at Tivoli Cunard Vista Fjord and the Head Chef at Durham Ox, Crayke.
31 Castlegate is open daily serving a tempting and varied range of lunch and snacks in the main
19th Century dining room. For the evening 31 Castlegate is transformed into an elegant candlelit restaurant serving
predominantly European a la carte dishes, which are complemented by our extensive range of New and Old Wines. 31 Castlegate
will be opening a private dining room in early 2006, which will be available for parties up to 20 people.
To sample 31 Castlegate, my staff and I are offering an Early Bird Menu from 6-9pm,
two courses for £10.95, Sunday, Tuesday-Friday and 6-7pm on Saturday
